Guideline for application

  1. Go to Semmelweis University’s online web app (SEMAPHOR) and register
  2. Select the preferred study program and start application process
  3. Upload all required documents and data
  4. Follow the instructions and complete the payment of application fee of EUR 450
  5. Submit your application

Guideline for online entrance examination

  1. Select and register for the preferred online exam event
  2. Take online entrance exam (written) – in case of a MSc program, you need to take an oral interview as well
  3. You will be informed about evaluation of the entrance exam within1 month.

Roadmap to enrollment after receiving admission letter

  1. Visa
    1. Foreign nationals (under visa obligation) wishing to pursue studies in Hungary are required to apply for entry visa (exceeding 90 days) in their home countries and enter the country on the entry visa issued by the Hungarian Embassy or Consulate. Learn more.
    2. Admitted students, who hold citizenship or passport of the EU and EEA area, as well as countries under bilateral visa-free agreements, do not need student visa, but have to apply for registration card within 90 days after their arrival.
  2. The annual tuition fee is to be paid in two instalments by semesters. First semester’s tuition fee must be paid by the starting of enrollment session.
  3. There is EUR 220 enrollment fee for students, who start 1st year’s first semester. Enrollment fee is due at the time of enrollment.

Required documents for application

  1. Secondary School Leaving Certificate from an accredited secondary school. This document is a necessary prerequisite of starting the studies (original/attested copy + copy). If the student at the time of applying has not completed his/her studies at secondary school yet, the leaving certificate can be submitted until the registration day. In case you are applying for our Master programme you have to upload your Bachelor degree certificate.
  2. One passport size photo
  3. Curriculum Vitae in English
  4. Copy of Passport/ID card with the applicant’s personal data and the expiry date of the passport/ID card.
  5. Medical report for application – signed by a GP (the form can be downloaded from the Faculty’s website).
  6. Letters of Recommendation. Letters in English from a secondary school principal or science instructor are welcome, but not obligatory.
  7. Payment Certificate about the payment of the EUR 450 admission procedure fee if the applicant chooses not to use the online payment system.

Application fee – payment process

  • Applicaion fee is EUR 450
  • You can pay either by debit/credit card or by wire transfer. In this case you need to upload the payment certificate to the system.
  • The admission procedure fee cannot be reduced.
  • The admission procedure fee is non-refundable, only if the application has never been submitted or it has been withdrawn before the application deadline.
